Update: As those who have tried to download files from here has discovered, all Solidfiles links are dead, due to the demise of the company. So, now I have started to try to fix/replace the dead Solidfiles links, but there are a lot, so it will take some time. I have started with the Kinks files, since they have been featured here recently, as well as some of the files that have been specifically requested over the past couple months. If there are specific files you are interested in, let me know, and I'll try to get them uploaded sooner rather than later. I am trying out a couple of new services, not sure if they will work out or not. For the smaller files, less than 200mb (most of the mp3 links), I am using Upload.ee (based on a recommendation from Paul at Albums That Should Exist blog, who just went through having to replace all his Zippyshare links). It seems pretty easy to use and download from, so we'll see how that goes. For the larger files (FLAC and larger mp3s), I am trying Uloz.to Disk, and not sure how that will go. But let me know if you have any problems with either of these services for downloads, or even if they work well. I don't really trust that these will last either, as it seems any ot these free services just don't survive, and these are both based in eastern European countries, and not sure how stable they will be. And after going through, by this time, countless closures of these types of file storage operations, please be warned about not storing anything you don't have physical backups for on these 'cloud' services, whether it's photos, music, or whatever, they are just not safe there. Anyway, we'll see how this works out over the next couple months. I'll have some new shows soon. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.

Back Again
Ok, so I guess I took a decidedly unplanned break from the blog for the past few weeks. I just got really bogged down with other things (work, family, etc.) and just didn't have time to get the blog for quite awhile there. But I'm back now, and will try to get back to more regular posting. Well, this was an especially busy and hectic summer. I did have several projects or special things planned for the blog, but I just never quite got to them. I may still try to post them in the future, but now the timing is off, as they were more of summer kind of things. Oh well, I will carry on, as time permits. Saw several interesting shows over the summer and may provide some items and commentary on them in the near future. But for now, I will return to presenting some classic live shows for all to enjoy. It was great to see how many enjoyed the Jackson Browne shows I posted last month. Not surprisingly, I have some more great shows from those classic 1970's concerts, from some other favoratie artists coming up, so stay tuned.

Jackson Browne - Criterion Demos (1970) - upgraded sound
Jackson Browne - Criterion Demos (1970)
As part of my continuing efforts to upgrade the sound quality of previously available posts, I have now pit in fresh links for Jackson's 1970 Criterion Demos on the original post page. So, if you haven't gotten that yet, by all means do so now, and if you already have it, it may be worth it to you to get the new upgraded quality files. Either way, enjoy.. Information regarding the collection is included on the original post page, which is located here:

Restoration Days
Re-uploading and fixing old broken links
OK now, after months of not doing anything about all the old dead links on the blog, over the last several days I have been working behind the scenes to restore most of the posts to full working order (even I was getting really tired of still seeing all those long dead megaupload links still hangin' around). I have now re-done all the mp3 links for the oldest stuff here (all of 2008 and 2009 posts), as it seems there are still folks coming along that want to get access to those earlier offerings. I am also working to finish up the last sections that are not functioning (previously I restored all the more recent posts, from 2012 back through the latter part of 2010), so that now the only primary artist catalog posts that have not yet been restored are those of Elvis Costello and Genesis (and I will get to those shortly). So then, all the links have been restored for Neil Young, The Kinks, Little Feat, the Guess Who, Counting Crows, and most everybody else (although some of the FLAC links are still down, as surprisingly, there just hasn't been much interest in them overall (very few downloads). There also are just a few others that I have misplaced the files and can't re-upload until I find them again, but hopefully will get them back, too. So, anyway, if you have requested any re-uploads over the past few months, or there were some of the older posts that you wanted but couldn't get, or if you have only recently discovered this blog and were disappointed that so many of the links were dead, well now is the time to check back, because, most likely, your downloads have been restored. If not yet, then they soon will be. Thanks for the continued interest, and stay tuned for more new stuff coming soon, too.

Another climb
Climbing back up, deva vu edition
Ok, so I have (once again) begun that long hard climb to try bring at least some of the former posted downloads back online. I have started slow, but now have re-uploaded pretty much all of the most recent stuff (2012, and late 2011), as well as selected favorites from earlier posts. And I am currently working on restoring more of the somewhat 'unique' and unusual posts that can only be found here (such as the David M recordings, lesser-known groups like the fabulous Poodles, etc.). So, hopefully, those that were not able to get the shows they wanted in recent weeks can find what they need, or will soon. As said previously, however, we'll see how this goes, and it is still doubtful that all posts will be restored (Plus, by the time I re-upload these, could very well be shutdown or locked out again, you never know). So, enjoy them while you can. Unfortunately, however, this means that there will be no new post this week (no time), but should be able to get back on track next week.
Here are just some of the posts that have been recently restored. There are many more, but you'll have to find them on your own, just take a look around.
All The Band and Band-related posts
All the Flying Burrito Brothers and many Chris Hillman posts

Long Hard Climb (photo by Katrina Swift) |
Ok, so I have begun that long hard climb to try bring the blog back (by restoring deleted download links) to some semblance of its former self after the loss of all music downloads in the Megaupload fiasco. I am starting slow, and have re-uploaded some of the most popular downloads so far. I will continue to do so at a slow steady rate until most of what was here is restored. I doubt that all will be returned, however, but we'll see how it goes. Here is a list of what has been uploaded so far.You can check back here for updates on what has been recently uploaded and updated.
The Guess Who - 1974-05-06 - St. Louis

The Kinks - 1996-06-15 - Oslo (Final Concert)

Fabulous Poodles - 1979-02-13 - Hempstead, NY
Fabulous Poodles - 1979-05-26 - London BBC
Genesis - 1982 Reunion Rehearsal
In the wake of the megaupload upheaval, things are still very tentative. Although there are still several decent file-sharing sites active, they tend to be slow, overcrowded, or inaccessible (like filefactory!), and are much more jittery about potential copyright violations, and seem ready to delete accounts at the slightest provocation, without any warning or recourse. So, although I only post unofficial stuff, who knows how long any re-uploads will survive. I am using mediafire, at least for now, as it has worked well so far. However, it has a 200mb file size limit, so for the larger shows (and especially any lossless stuff), it is a bit of a pain to have to split into several multiple files. So, I may wait a bit on re-upping the lossless stuff and look for another alternative site without the size limits. Anyway, if you haven't already gotten any of the above shows, by all means, get them now, they are all great. I will continue to upload more shows each week.

Year-End Blog Cleanup
New updated links to replace dead and broken links.
Over the next couple weeks I will be doing some year-end cleanup work around the blog, making corrections, revisions, getting things in order. The first order of business was to fix and update any non-functional download links. So I have done that now. Currently, all links on the blog should be functional. If you find any that are not, please let me know. Overall, I have been quite impressed by how few links have died over the past 2-1/2 years I have been running this blog. The policy at megaupload is that links are deleted if there are no downloads for a period of 3 months. Many of my links have remained intact and functioning for over 2 years. Pretty impressive. This isn't exactly a high traffic site, but that that implies that you folks are continuing to download most of this stuff long after the initial period of frequent downloading following a post. So thanks for your interest and support. Keep up the good work. Here are the new updated page links for those few posts that had expired. So, if you didn't get these previously, here's your chance to get these excellent boots now.
Neil Young - Archives Be Damned 2000
Neil Young - Rock 'n Roll Cowboy
Joe Jackson - 1986-10-21 - Tokyo SBD
In addition, I have now added a blog email address if anyone wants to be able to get in touch with me outside of the post comments. the address is bbchron@gmail.com
Stay tuned for more updates, fewer mistakes, new features, and of course, more great music.
