The Lost and Found Mike the MICrophone Tapes Volume 115
Available in both Lossless (FLAC) and Mp3 (320 kbps) versions
Last week I posted what has been called the Last Genesis Concert, capping a more than 50-year career for this legendary band. But I also noted that the current version of the band is a far cry from the peak or 'classic' years of the band. So, today, I have a great show from those more prime years for the band. This is a show from 1977 and a recording that has only recently been 'found' (as thought to have been lost) from the Mike Millard (Mike the MICrophone) master tape series. This tour 1977 tour, of course is what was used to produce the great Seconds Out Live album. But Seconds Out did not include all the songs played at these shows. So here is another full concert from that tour, in a great recording from Millard. Actually, this recording did not include the encore of 'Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' and the closing section of 'The Musical Box', so those have been added from the San Francisco concert 2 days earlier (from the very good PRRP-GS-011 recording). So, the whole concert is here. Although Peter Gabriel was no longer in the band at this point, Steve Hackett still was, and this 1977 tour is considered among the very best Genesis shows ever. So, enjoy this piece of Genesis history and the band still in their glory days.

Excellent choice though my personal favourite from that period is from Zurich...fantastic quality and has the added bonus of containing the lost Steve Hackett classic 'Inside and Out'
Ssb,
Yes, you are right, The Zurich show (and Zurich revisited v.2 recording) is the best show recording from this tour, and also my favorite as well. And particularly for the inclusion of Inside and Out (which was rarely played), a great Steve Hackett song that should have been included on Wind and Wuthering. I posted this Zurich show here way back in 2010, so it is well represented and appreciated here. The master tapes for this San Diego show have only recently (within the last year or so) been made available, and that is why I posted it now. Nice to hear from you.
I think that the 77 tour boots show that the under appreciated Wind and Wuthering songs contained more texture than the studio equivalents when played live, especially the ...In That Quiet Earth/Afterglow section...magnificent.
Many thanks for sharing the Genesis Millar recording here...appreciated. Still trying to get that Zurich show!...cheers
