Picking up where we left off with the wonderful singer-songwriter-musician Norah Jones: After her 2007 album, Not Too Late, Norah continued to expand and develop her sound and style, with more personal, emotional songs and more soul and rock influences on her next album, The Fall (2009). Around this time, Norah also collaborated with many other artists on various projects. A compilation album of some of these other artist collaborations, ...Featuring Norah Jones was released in 2010, and included tracks with Foo Fighters, Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, and many others. Her country band, The Little Willies released their second album, For the Good Times in 2011. After working with producer Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) on his album Rome (2011), Norah and Danger Mouse started working together on her next album, Little Broken Hearts (2012), which was basically a break-up album filled with raw, emotional songs and stark, electronic-embellished  accompaniment, further departing from Jones' familiar sound, different from anything done previously. Jones then collaborated with Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) on an album of duets on Everly Brothers songs titled Foreverly (2013), and her alt-country trio (with Sasha Jobson and Catherine Popper), Puss n Boots released their first full album, No Fools, No Fun in 2014. So, a very busy time for Norah. The show featured today is from early in her 2012 tour in support of Little Broken Hearts, where she plays the entire album in sequence (first 12 songs played) to start the show. And this was actually before the album had officially released, so these were all brand new songs to the audience, never heard before. After the new album, Norah plays some more familiar songs and hits. So this gives a good update of the changes in her songs at this time, as well as some classics. This is an FM radio broadcast from France, with very good sound, but does have a French DJ translating Norah's comments between songs, but fortunately does not intrude much on the actual songs.
