Here's a great solo show from Pete Townshend, mostly acoustic, stripped-down to just Pete with his guitar and piano/keyboard accompaniment. And Pete puts on an epic, nearly three-hour show, featuring more than 30 songs from throughout his career. Pete also brings in Chicago native Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) as a special guest on a couple songs ('Heart to Hang Onto' done as a tribute to the recently deceased Ronnie Lane (The Faces), 'Tattoo', and 'Magic Bus'). Although Pete's voice is a bit rough throughout, he puts on a heck of a show, and all these songs take on a very different feel when done solo than when done by The Who, or with another full band. This was a benefit show for a local Chicago charity, Maryville Academy, which was called "a leader in the treatment of physically, sexually, and emotional abused
children. It provides a safe, secure, and stable environment where
these youngsters can regain the hope they lost so long ago and begin the
healing process". This was the first of what became a series of yearly benefit shows for
the charity. Parts of the show from the following year (1998) were
released as a live album. But this is the complete show from the previous year (1997), and a fine soundboard recording to boot.

Great post! Many thanks. (And I recently listened to "This Old Lifehouse - The Bootleg Reconstruction Project 2.0" and was blown away. What a great effort. Thanks.)
There was, the following year, an official release of a live recording, from the same venue for the same charity. This offering, however, is both very different AND length with regards to the material. Thank you.
