The Pretenders - 2023-10-02 - The Regent, Los Angeles, CA

The Pretenders

2023-10-02
The Regent Theater, Los Angeles, CA
Audience recording, good quality
Mp3 @320 kbps

There have been several impressive returns or comebacks from legendary artists from the 60's and 70's this year, with strong new albums from Yes (Mirror to the Sky), The Rolling Stones (Hackney Diamonds), The Guess Who (Plein D'Amour), and the sensational i/o from Peter Gabriel. Heck, even The Beatles released a new song this year (sort of). Another classic band that is still going and released their strongest new album in many years is The Pretenders, with their 12th studio album, Relentless, and they still sound great. Chrissie Hynde and her band are currently on tour in support of the new album, which came out a couple months ago. The new tour features a handful of songs from the new album, as well as an abundance of songs from throughout their catalog. Although this is an audience recording and not perfect sound, it's still quite good and gives a fine indication of the current band and their sound in an impressive show. Check 'em out.

  3. william edwards,
As far as I can tell, BigO just chose to close the blog. It was not shutdown by outside forces. I believe he posted a notice that he had decided to shut down the site and just wanted to move on to do other things. I think he believed it had served its purpose and just wasn't needed any more, at least for him. So, it is gone, but by choice and not enforcement.
