I thought I would continue with a few more lost and found Mike Millard (Mike the MICrophone) recordings from another classic band, The Kinks, as I have not posted anything from them in quite awhile. This is a great show from 1978, from their Sleepwalker (1977)/Misfits (1978) period, which, frankly, is my favorite Kinks era. This show features several songs from both of those great albums, as well as many of their previous hits. Their next album Low Budget (1979) would be great as well, and would reclaim some of their commercial fame and popularity. Ray seems to be having fun with the audience here, as multiple times early in the show he teases the crowd by playing the beginning of fan favorite 'Lola' then stopping and saying 'No, not ready yet'. A great show and a very good recording. Too often The Kinks seem to be almost forgotten, but are sincerely one of the all-time great rock bands, and are fantastic in concert.
