Here's more from Jackson Browne. Last week (July 23, 2021) Jackson released his 15th studio album, Downhill from Everywhere, which is his first album of new material in 7 years. And he is still in quite fine voice and style. I previously posted a collection of recent solo performances from his home. Here is a wonderful show with full band from pre-pandemic days this time, from the tour for his previous album, Standing in the Breach (2014), to hear some of his songs performed with full band arrangements. Here he plays several songs from the then new album as well as a nice selection of earlier classics and favorites for a great concert performance.

Jackson Browne - 2020-2021 - various dates - Live From Home Series

Jackson Browne
2020-2021 - various dates
Live From Home Series
(Performances recorded from his home for various charitable causes and made available to the public on Youtube)
Mp3 @ 320 kbps

Here's something a little different, mainly in that it features recent performances, rather than quite old ones. As we all know, Live in-person music performances were shut down during the pandemic, and are only now just beginning to come back in any form. But as we did for so many other activities, many musicians found ways to keep performing through Zoom and virtual concerts from their homes over the internet. And although this could not really substitute for real Live shows, it did give us the opportunity to see some very intimate, personal performances and stripped down songs from many great artists. And most of these performances were freely available for viewing and listening through Youtube or other online outlets. Some of the wonderful artists that provided an abundance of 'home' concerts and performances were Norah Jones, Melissa Etheridge, Ben Folds, Neil Finn, Grace Potter, Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlisle, Richard Thompson, John Fogerty, and many others. Fellow music blogger Paul over at his wonderful site 'Albums That Should Exist' has compiled many of these internet home performances into pseudo-albums for listening purposes. Another great artist that has made a series of these types of performances is Jackson Browne. He has made many individual song performances from his home for various charitable organizations he supports, and after their use for those charities they have been released onto Youtube for all to enjoy. And since no one else has compiled these performances into an audio album compilation yet, I thought that I had to do it. And some of these performances are just fantastic (all are good, but some excel to another level). They sound so good, the songs are great, Jackson's voice is still as clear and pure as ever (and he is 72!), and these tasteful arrangements, most with additional guitar accompaniment (Greg Leisz on slide or steel guitar or Val McCallum on lead guitar, as well as a couple w/full band) are just excellent (a particular highlight is the beautiful guitar leads of Val McCallum on 'Before the Deluge' and 'Our Lady of the Well'). These are all performances from 2020-2021 and are available on Youtube (thus full video are available). Jackson will be releasing his 15th album, titled Downhill From Everywhere, later this month. I have added a bonus track (not from home concerts) from a recent appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show where Jackson plays a new song from the album. So, enjoy these new (recent, at least) solo, duo, and small group performances of some of Jackson's greatest songs, as well as several interesting covers in these Live From Home special performances.

BB Chronicles Goes Multi-Platinum

Minor Music Blog Reaches Multi-Mill Milestone

Just noticed that BB Chronicles has recently surpassed 5 Million Views. And hey, that's quite alot. Ok, sure, it has taken over 13 years to get there, so it's not that big a deal compared to actual popular sites, but still, that is quite a big number and not bad for this forsaken outpost of a music blog. And if a sizable percentage of those views resulted in someone finding something of interest here, then that is really something and makes me quite pleased. So thanks to all of you who regularly check out what I have to offer here, and hopefully it does provide things of interest to a wide variety of music fans. Anyway, just wanted to acknowledge this minor milestone, as it will be quite some time before we reach another one. Thanks, and keep on following and listening.
