Hey, it's been well over a year since I posted any Kinks shows, so it's high time for some Kinks! I've got a few more vintage shows from the early '70's that don't seem to be as widely circulated as some others. Here is a very good audience recording from a show from Queen's College in 1971, capturing The Kinks in their hey-day, and Ray Davies in a particularly playful mood throughout. This show is also notable because a student, Ben Rosenblatt, who introduced himself to Ray before the show, was invited to accompany the band on piano on two tracks - Mister Pleasant and Autumn Almanac - both rarely performed live. This was previously posted on Wolfsbane's music site 'Nathan's Rock Moat', but the links there have expired, so here it is at 'The Chronicles'.
Tracklist:
1. Introduction (Lighting Problem)
2. Give My Love To Rose
3. Till The End Of The Day
4. Brainwashed
5. Apeman
6. Get Back In Line
7. Mr. Pleasant
8. Autumn Almanac
9. Dedicated Follower Of Fashion
10. Mr. Big Sky
11. Sunny Afternoon
12. Lola
13. Medley: Milk Cow Blues - Powerman - You Are My Sunshine
14. You Really Got Me
15. All Day And All Of The Night
16. Waterloo Sunset
17. Victoria

An absolute treat from a longtime KinKs fan.... Thank you!
thanks. One can never have too much of the Kinks
I was at this show and recorded it too! I hope that this sounds better than mine does!
Can you do a repost on this one?
I WAS AT THIS SHOW FRONT AND CENTER THE KINKS ALWAYS WERE AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!
Ben Rosenblatt here - Thanks for the post! After meeting Ray at that QC show, some time later he and his brother Dave brought my friend and myself over to London to produce our original songs at their then newly opened Konk Studios. Always good to relive the good ole days...!
I was covering this show for the school newspaper. What I remember most, though, that the opening act, Trapeze, a power trio, was so bad that the lobby outside the auditorium was full of folks who had fled. I still remember one young woman's comment: "I feel bad for them. It's not their fault they're terrible."
And hi to Ben Rosenblatt!
i'd like to hear ben's songs
Any chance you have FLAC available for this?
Unknown,
Sorry, but no, this is the only version I have, and I have not run across any upgraded versions (320 k or FLAC) available anywhere else either (although they must be out there somewhere). For now, at least, we need to be glad we at least have this version of this fine show.
Thanks for answering BBKron. Love your blog, and 192 > 0, so it is what it is.
Could you please re-upload this one?
