I remember speaking to a good friend about Fogerty and his, then, upcoming show at The Tower. Knew he was doing his CCR material for the first time in years. Wondered what the show would be like - and I remember the friend pointed out, very simply, it's going to be John Fogerty playing 15 or 16 of the greatest 2 or 3 minutes songs ever written. He was right. And though you knew the material - it was like hearing it/them for the first time - it grabbed you in the gut and you wanted more. I remember reading the story of him visitng Robert Johnson's grave - (there are 3 places where he is claimed to have been buried) and right around this time, I think, there was a great PBS special hosted a/o narrated by Levon Helm - Great Rides In America - and Levon was driving down Highway 61 - where he too, as he stated, 'Paid his respects to the guitar man'<br />Thanks for this great site.<br />Gpghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18058812374583036137noreply@blogger.com
