It so much more interesting then the endlessly churning sludge of pop rock. It took your mind places & altered how you listened to & played music with friends. When fusion hit the scene it was yet more of a whole new way to process music. It was jazz but not & rock but not -- it was a new synthesis of both. And for me after Maha Ork, RTF, Allan Holdsworth & the like came on the scene my way to listen to and play guitar and keyboards was forever changed and persists to even now.
